Choosing the perfect vacation getaway is challenging.  However, in a modern hectic paced environment you are competing with all of the obligations and time pressures you face in your daily life.  Sometimes it is relaxing to obtain a new perspective on destination ideas that you might not have considered before.  A North Carolina vacation provides you a chance to see something that you may not be able to find in your own neighborhood.

Whether you are seeking adventure or relaxation on your vacation escape, you will appreciate it more greatly if you take a little time to plan part of your excursion in advance.  For the outdoor seeking vacationer, check out the weather forecasts of the area that you will be travelling into so that you can bring the appropriate clothing and attire to make your trip safe and fun.  There can be significant swings in temperature between days and night.

One of the ideal state destination is North Carolina, where you will find too much to partake and do.  Here are a sampling of the North Carolina attractions you might want to experience:

Idea #1: Fort Macon State Park – Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. The historic landmark at this site is the 5 sided fort constructed of brick and stone which guarded the entrance to Beaufort Harbor.  The Park is surrounded on three sides by water, the Atlantic Ocean, Beaufort Inlet and Bogue Sound.  Construction of the present fort began in 1826 following the demonstrated weakness of existing coastal defenses during the war in 1812.

Idea #2:  Cape Hatteras Lighthouse – Buxton, North Carolina. The Lighthouse at Cape Hatteras is the tallest in the nation.  The walls at the base are 14 feet of solid masonry and narrow to eight feet at the top of the lighthouse.  There are no advance ticket sales. Ticket sales begin at 8:15 a.m.  Climbing tours will begin at 9 a.m. and will run every 10 minutes with a limit of 30 visitors per tour. Ticket holders should arrive at the lighthouse gate five minutes prior to their ticketed tour time.

Certainly there are a lot of other destinations that you might want to see on your Alaska vacation.  You might only be staying for a short length of time, but you can appreciate and capture much of the rich art, history, and fun that the state has to offer.  You certainly will never be ignored  – check out this North Carolina tourism video – there is always something new to see and do.
