Obtaining Traffic to your Website

So you found your niche and have started to exploit it on the internet with your new blogs or web pages. The trouble you are having now is getting interested people to visit your site and no matter what you do it doesn’t seem to work. Welcome to the internet jungle of getting traffic to your site. There are many different ways to obtain traffic to your websites but it seems that four ways are the most common on the internet today.

Article Marketing is the most common way to get traffic but you better have interesting articles with the right keywords to be seen on the search pages. If you do get traffic of some sizable amount then you must keep up on your article writing to beat the competition or just as fast as you got the traffic you will loose it by being place somewhere else in the search pages. Of course there is a lot more to do to keep your place like SEO work and back linking etc…

Social Networking is the newest way of obtaining traffic and can be very lucrative for some. But unless you are good at keeping up on what so and so is doing and have a talent that others are interested in, you will have to work a lot on getting people to be interested in you and accept you into their group. Of course their are a lot of rules to follow and getting banned from one group can cause a large setback.

Paid Advertising is another popular way to be seen and can get results much faster then most other ways of obtaining traffic. The more experienced online businesses go with this route because of its effectiveness. The biggest problem with this way of getting traffic is the cost of advertising which can add up to thousands of dollars a month. Of course you can scale the cost down to a minimum but then you won’t get very much traffic if any at all. One thing to watch out for in paid advertising is how much you will spend a day and what is your return on your investment. Many people start with good intentions but in up with a large debt that only grows larger until they stop their campaigns.

Using Traffic Exchanges is the most inexpensive way to get your web site seen and for beginners it seems to a great way to start. Well, it isn’t! The way the system is setup it is counter productive as  the only reason everybody is there is to get credits to show their web page ad and for the most part they are not interested in others ads. Yes, some do make some money at doing this but it is,in my opinion, very few. You have to spend hours a day clicking onto others ads to even hope to have enough credits to be seen in order to sell your ad to anyone. Now after saying that traffic exchanges are not so great I did find a new type of traffic exchange that might be of some interest for beginners as it promises that you will make sales through your traffic. With a guarantee of making a hundred dollars your first month it maybe of interest to some.

Making a living on the internet is mostly a numbers game but just getting traffic isn’t enough you have to get traffic that is interested in what ever niche you are promoting. There are many ways to achieve your goal but there is always the cost which you have to pay whether in time, money, or both. If you want to be successful at your business you will have to advertise so choose your methods and always be open to new ideas because the internet is constantly changing with lots of competition.
