August 29th, 2009 Why So Many People Buy Used Cell Phones
The used cell phone market has really grown in recent years. There is a great turnover in cell phones, as it is the norm for airtime providers to offer free or greatly discounted phones when signing up for a new contract.
This leaves people with an extra cell phone, often in great shape. I personally have inadvertently drop-kicked my phone across a few parking lots, so you definitely wouldn’t want to buy a used cell phone from me, but there are many (mostly girls to my knowledge) who take impeccable care of their cell phones, and in fact always keep it in a special little pouch on the inside of their purse. These cell phones are in immaculate shape, and are basically as good as new.
On the demand side, there are the drop-kicker guys like me who are constantly in need of a new phone. No way do I want to go to the Best Buy and pay full price every time I damage my phone. Especially when I can get a used cell phone online that is a fraction of the cost, and will work perfectly well.
In fact, these used cell phones are so cheap that I will usually look for a phone that has more features than my old one – it’s actually pretty cool because I can try different phones for very cheap, and I don’t have to sign up for another 2 year plan, nor do I have to deal with some pushy wise-guy cell phone salesman (they’re not all that bad actually).
So if you are in need of a new cell phone, or just want to try a new model, maybe see if you’ll take to a BlackBerry, and don’t want to spend very much, go to used cell phones and check things out. It’s very cool.
